Riding the waves: The great O
Tantra workshop for men and women

Saturday 7 October 2007, @ Shakti Khaya, 71 Kallenbach Drive, Linksfield Ridge

On Tantra
Tantra sees the sacred and the sexual as one. Because it supports full presence with everything that we experience, it is a fast path to awakening. For most of us, conditioning and repression make it not so easy to be – and to stay - fully present in the moment – as the waves of our experience start to crest. In the words of my teacher, Rahasya, I challenge you with this question:

How much bliss can you stand?

Riding the waves

The film Shortbus, which showed recently, illustrates most poignantly the dilemmas that we get into around the mystery of Orgasm – the great O. What is this thing called Orgasm? Do I have to be a wild sexual beast to experience it – or to be interested at all? What if I come too soon and there is no time to ride the waves of pleasure? How do different kinds of orgasm work, and how do I open to them? What blocks my way to a deepening – or to any – experience of orgasm? These are some of the questions we will explore in the workshop.

Orgasm, really, is just the body riding the waves of bliss. The more we become open to feeling these waves, in all their subtlety, in all their intensity, the more we surrender into the vast oceans of love.

How much bliss can you stand?

The workshop
You are invited to a workshop dedicated to this very theme. The elements of the workshop are as follows:
1. Active meditation for releasing control. For the first hour, we will be doing a meditation that comes pretty close to the experience of orgasmic release, if you allow it. One of the great joys of orgasm is the intensity of expression and catharsis. C’m on babes and boys, let’s do it!
2. Let’s talk about sex: This is a time for you to explore what is happening in your life around your willingness and ability to ride the waves of bliss. I will also talk to you about different kinds of orgasm, and give some guidance for opening and exploring the potentials.
3. Riding the waves: Get ready to dive into the oceans of bliss. Two hours of immersion into the subtle waves that course through our bodies if we allow our sexual energy to flow. Movement, dance, sound and breath, in one timeless flow.

Please note
You are welcome to come on your own or with a partner.
The whole day is for your benefit and pleasure, and all experience is 100% your choice. I do, however, ask you to be 100% present.
My work is done with utmost respect for your being and your journey of awareness.

How much bliss can you stand?
Embracing the power of female sexuality
A Tantra workshop for Women
6 October 2007

The power of female sexuality

I frequently get asked by women how they can deepen their relationship to their own sexuality. What these women express is an intuitive knowing that there must be more to their sexuality than what they are letting themselves in on. What exactly this more is, we often don’t know: a sinking into the softest bliss of self love, a discovery and exploration of my own secret stories and mysteries, a getting to know and love and honour my body, an ability to stay luminously present, the goddess, inside relationship and alone… Maybe all of the above.

I have put together a day for all women to come explore, discover and play. Come find out for yourself. It is true of course that women’s sexuality is the source of untapped mysteries, power and delight. In ancient matriarchal times everybody knew that, and a women’s sexuality was understood by all as a doorway to the divine, to awakening, to moving through all illusions. Patriarchy has taught us differently about our sexuality. Either you are a virgin or a whore; either you are a wife or you are trouble, sexually… And in this context we have developed myriads strategies of withholding, seduction, compromise, performance in order to just get a sniff of what we still inherently sense to be there: The power of female sexuality.

But the times they are a-changing. Now it is only we ourselves who are holding us back. Are you ready to start opening the windows and see what new light may come shining onto your full sexual beauty?

Shakti, the facilitator

I am a Tantrika, that is, a teacher of the ancient art of sacred sexuality, and member of the School of Advait Tantra Apart from running retreats and workshops, I run a private practice. I have a Ph.D in Social Antropology, but it is really the journey of my own awareness which enables me to facilitate this work.
